SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) — A woman died after she was thrown off the third floor of a building in San Ysidro by her boyfriend Monday night, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Around 7:22 p.m., authorities responded to a 911 call of an individual who had fallen from the third floor of the San Ysidro Senior Village, located on W San Ysidro Boulevard, near Averil Road.
Upon arrival, first responders immediately assisted the woman on the scene and transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Authorities told ABC 10News a man was arrested at the scene for allegedly throwing the victim from the third floor of the building. Police later confirmed the woman was thrown from a third-floor walkway of the apartment building during a fight with her boyfriend.
According to a resident, the senior living complex is not exclusively for seniors.
SDPD's Homicide Unit responded to the scene.
Tuesday afternoon, SDPD identified Irene Williams, 61, as the victim. Police say Albert Turner, 57, was arrested and booked into county jail on a murder charge.
"Investigators believe the two had been in a dating relationship and had been involved in an altercation inside the apartment earlier in the evening," the press release states. "At some point, Williams began throwing Turner’s belongings over the railing of the balcony corridor. Turner then threw Williams over the railing onto the concrete below."
